BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) Eligibility

Applicants are required to meet specific criteria concerning nationality, potential age limitations, qualifying examination, pass percentage, and other relevant factors. Additionally, successful qualification in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is a prerequisite for BDS admissions. The eligibility criteria for BDS admissions in accordance with NEET are outlined below.

Qualifying Exam:
  • Applicants must successfully clear a recognized Higher/Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination, equivalent to the 10+2 Higher/Senior Secondary Examination after completing 12 years of study.
     

  • The eligibility of NIOS candidates is currently subject to the matter being under consideration in the court.
     

  • Students from Foreign/International Boards are deemed eligible if their qualified examination aligns with the equivalence standards specified by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), in accordance with the regulations set forth by the Dental Council of India and the relevant University.

BDS (Bachelor Of Dental Surgery) Admissions

In India, NEET stands as the singular entrance examination for dental admissions at the undergraduate level. No separate examination is conducted for granting admission to BDS programs in the country. Admission to the BDS degree is solely based on NEET scores. Aspiring candidates must participate in and qualify the National Eligibility Entrance Test to pursue a BDS degree.

The admission process for the BDS degree involves filling out the NEET application form, obtaining the admit card, participating in the exam, checking the result, and engaging in the counseling process.

Candidates must complete the NEET BDS application process by submitting the required fee within the specified deadlines. Admit cards for the BDS degree will be issued to successfully registered candidates, which they must carry to the exam center for verification.

Following the NEET BDS exam, the authorities will release the results according to their schedule. The BDS result will be made available online in the form of a scorecard. Aspirants can download the BDS result-cum-scorecard by logging in with the necessary credentials. Only candidates who meet the BDS cutoff will be considered qualified and eligible for the counseling process. Qualified candidates must actively participate in the counseling process, registering within the specified deadlines for successful admission to the BDS program.
